什么是自动化安装？

“A standard Linux installation asks many questions about what to install, what hard-ware to configure, how to configure the network interface, etc. Answering these ques- tions once is informative and maybe even fun. But imagine a system engineer who hasto set up a new Linux network with a large number of machines. Now, the same is- sues need to be addressed and the same questions answered repeatedly. This makesthe task very inefficient, not to mention a source of irritation and boredom. Hence, a need arises to automate this parameter and option selection.”

简单来说：自动化安装就是通过定义控制文件来回答在手动安装过程中的各个问题，省去重复无意义的劳动。对redhat、centos来说，这个控制文件就是kickstart；对于suse、opensuse来说，是autoyast；对ubuntu、debian来说，是preseed，当然，ubuntu也可以使用kickstart文件，但支持的完整性不如preseed。
